It’s Super Bowl weekend, a de facto American holiday.
Some argue the Monday after the Super Bowl should be a national holiday, and I’m in that camp.
The Super Bowl is the most-watched television event of the year in the United States. Last year’s Super Bowl set an all-time record, averaging 127.7 million viewers, breaking the record set the year before at 123.7 million viewers.
But Sunday’s Super Bowl LX will have a different look than we’re used to.

AFM instead focused its marketing on the college football playoffs and a big promotion with comedian Rob Riggle with sweepstakes and interactive AI games. Avocados From Mexico launches ‘AI Prediction Pit’ for guac fans during big games – Blue Book
While viewers may not hear the famous “Avocados from Mexico” jingle on Sunday, they have ample opportunity to serve guacamole, as Mexican avocados have set a volume record leading up to this year’s big game. Avocados From Mexico projects record-breaking imports for the 2025-26 season – Blue Book
As we’re in a season of record Mexican avocado imports, prices are lower this year than the previous two years, thanks to this heavy volume.
So, whether you’re hosting a Super Bowl party, going to one, or just having a small, sad Chiefless watch party like me, there’s no excuse not to roll out the guacamole Sunday evening.
AFM may not have a Super Bowl ad this year, but viewers will see at least one other fruit star between big game plays.
Instacart scheduled a Super Bowl ad featuring bananas as a top seller on its grocery delivery platform.
Look for the silly spot starring Ben Stiller and Benson Boone in the first quarter, or catch a sneak preview of it here. Bananas star in Instacart Super Bowl LX ad – Blue Book
