MISSION VIEJO, CA – (July 9, 2025) –The 2025 Big Game delivered another strong performance for Hass Avocados, as consumers across the U.S. stocked up in preparation for the year’s most anticipated football event.
According to the Hass Avocado Board’s (HAB) Avocado Holiday Retail Recap, 64.9 million units of Hass avocados were sold during the Big Game week, generating $74.4 million in retail sales— a +25% increase in dollar sales and +3.8% increase in units compared to 2024.
These figures represent the highest Big Game week unit and dollar sales performance in the past four years. Combined, the Q1 2025 holiday weeks spanning the Big Game, Valentine’s Day, and St. Patrick’s Day generated sales of 167 million units and $199 million in retail sales.
Key highlights from this year’s Big Game performance include:
- The national average selling price for avocados reached $1.15 per unit.
- Seven out of eight U.S. regions posted year-over-year volume growth.
- Small avocados (4046) experienced a +4-percentage point increase in promoted volume share, with promotional activity contributing a +57% lift in volume during the week.
- Large avocados (4225) delivered the strongest promotional results, including a +135% volume lift in California.
