Salinas, CA (May 18, 2025) — Inteligistics, the perishable supply chain technology company using AI and Machine Learning to optimize cold chain performance for growers, shippers, distributors and retail grocers, today announced two key personnel moves that reflect the company’s deepening commitment to artificial intelligence as a core driver of produce industry value.

Lawrence Mallia, a long-tenured Inteligistics team member who previously served as Vice President of Digital Transformation, has been promoted to Vice President of AI Strategy & Product Solutions.

Manjusha Sunkavalli has joined the company as Data Scientist, bringing specialized expertise in machine learning, predictive modeling and advanced data engineering to Inteligistics’ expanding AI and analytics capabilities.

Inteligistics has been developing and deploying AI-powered tools across the fresh produce cold chain for several years, with multiple team members contributing significantly to the company’s ability to collect, interpret and act on massive operational data sets. That work has directly informed the AI and ML capabilities now embedded in products like InteliCool, which has demonstrated precooling efficiency gains of up to 33%.

“AI is not something we are just beginning to explore — it is already producing real, measurable results for our customers,” said Gary Fleming, CEO of Inteligistics. “Lawrence’s promotion and Manjusha’s arrival reflect the next chapter: taking the data and models we have built and driving them deeper into every product and every decision our customers make, from the cooler to the loading dock.”

Lawrence Mallia: Architecting the AI Product Roadmap
Lawrence Mallia joined Inteligistics with a background spanning supply chain technology, digital operations and enterprise software strategy. In his prior role as VP of Digital Transformation, he led the company’s efforts to modernize how growers, shippers and distributors capture and act on operational data across the perishable supply chain.

As VP of AI Strategy & Product Solutions, Mallia will now oversee how Inteligistics embeds and scales AI capabilities across its product portfolio — including InteliCool, InteliTemp, InteliShip, InteliMonitor and InteliDock — while ensuring that AI delivers practical, high-impact outcomes for customers managing high-value perishable crops including leafy greens, berries and stone fruit.

“The produce industry has always operated on instinct and experience,” said Mallia. “What we are doing now is pairing that knowledge with the analytical power of AI to give growers, shippers and distributors a level of predictability and precision that was simply not possible before. This is not about replacing expertise — it is about amplifying it.”

Manjusha Sunkavalli: Building the Models That Drive Optimization
Manjusha Sunkavalli brings more than five years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence and applied machine learning, having worked across the healthcare, insurance and research sectors. She holds a Master of Science in Data Science from the University of New Haven, where she also served as a Research Assistant, publishing work in AI, deep learning, traffic forecasting and interpretable machine learning.

At Inteligistics, Sunkavalli is currently applying AI and advanced analytics to the vast amount of operational data from our customers and transforming it into actionable insights that will improve decision-making and operational performance. She is uncovering patterns and identifying bottlenecks that could lead to substantial improvements and optimizing core cooling processes — work that is expected to reduce energy consumption and maximize throughput for precooling operations.

“There is an enormous amount of signal in the data that cold chain facilities generate every day,” said Sunkavalli. “My focus is on turning that signal into models that help operators make faster, smarter decisions — whether that is knowing exactly when to pull product from a cooler or anticipating an equipment issue before it disrupts a shipment.”

The appointments of Mallia and Sunkavalli confirm that Inteligistics is accelerating its AI investment at every level — from executive strategy to hands-on model development — as the company works to deliver the next generation of intelligence to an industry that cannot afford to wait.

“As the produce industry faces increasing pressure around labor, cost, sustainability and quality, AI is emerging not as a future concept — but as a practical tool to drive measurable improvements across the entire cold chain,” Fleming noted.
