Mega Produce, LLC BB #:327369, McAllen, TX, reports that an unauthorized individual is impersonating both the company and its sales representative, Justin Martinez.
It’s reported that the impersonator is sending emails requesting products – the following are key impersonator detail provided to Blue Book Services:
- Email Used: justin@megaproduces.com
- Signature phone number: 561-726-4858
Here is a snippet of the fraudulent email field:

The primary indicator that this email is fraudulent is found in the domain. The legitimate address is justin@megaproduce.com, while the impersonator used justin@megaproduces.com—adding a single “S.” This subtle change is a common tactic and can be easily overlooked without careful review.
In addition to the fraudulent domain, the email contains a generic greeting—a commonly observed red flag—and lists a phone number not associated with Mega Produce, LLC.
Blue Book contacted the number and reached a generic voicemail with no identification of the business or individual.
The scammer also seems to have product and pricing knowledge. Here are the full body and signature of the email:

Deceptive email domains and unrelated phone numbers are just a few of the tactic’s fraudsters use. Download our fraud prevention guide for more information on red flags and how to protect your business.
To reduce the risk of fraud, businesses are urged to verify the identity of unfamiliar or suspicious communications by using Blue Book’s new fraud tool: Blue Book Verify.
And as always, be sure to report your fraud experiences to rating@bluebookservices.com and PACAInvestigations@usda.gov.
