Brookshire Grocery Co. BB #:130335 and Cranford’s Supermarkets today announced they have entered into an agreement under which BGC will acquire three stores in Central Arkansas. Cranford’s in White Hall and FoodWise in Hot Springs Village will become part of the Brookshire’s Food Store banner, and the ShopWise Market location in Redfield will be converted to a Spring Market location.
“We are excited about this agreement and the opportunity it provides us to further grow and expand in this region. These stores are a strong fit for our Brookshire’s and Spring Market banners, and we look forward to welcoming new customers and employees in these communities,” said Brad Brookshire, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer for BGC. “We’re a fourth-generation family business that has operated in our region for over 90 years, and we look forward to a great future here.”
“We are pleased to have secured a strong partner in Brookshire Grocery Company, who shares our focus on customers and who respects and values their employees. We know BGC very well and are confident that the three stores being transitioned will see continued success in their communities,” said Larry Cranford, President & Chief Executive Officer of Cranford’s. “Cranford’s and BGC are working closely together to ensure a smooth transition for team members in these stores, and we are thrilled they will have the opportunity to interview at their current store locations for ongoing positions. We would like to thank our loyal customers who have faithfully supported Cranford’s and our team of hard-working associates for their commitment to serving our customers over the past 30 years.”
After the closing process is completed, the stores will undergo a brief transition period with the goal of re-opening within a matter of days under the Brookshire’s and Spring Market banners.
