Mexico, the Netherlands, and Peru lead the world ranking of the world’s top avocado exporters of 2021 (measured by value), as reported by Opportimes.
Mexico leads with international sales of $2.976 billion, reflecting a growth of 12 percent year on year. It is followed by the Netherlands with $1.164 billion, reflecting a growth of 10 percent compared to 2020. And finally, Peru with $1.408 billion reflecting an increase of 48 percent year on year, according to data from the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Mexico produced 2,184,663 tons of avocado in 2018 and 2,300,889 tons in 2019, reflecting more than 30 percent of production for both years.
Other notable avocado exporters in 2021 were Spain with $462 million, reflecting an increase of 4 percent year on year, Chile ($214 million, decrease of 2 percent), Colombia ($205 million increase of 40 percent), the U.S. ($157 million, decrease of 4 percent), Kenya ($140 million, increase of 21 percent), South Africa ($110 million, increase of 44 percent), and France ($94 million, increase of 4 percent).
The WTO estimates that world avocado sales were $7.261 billion in 2021, reflecting an increase of 13 percent annually.
