November 2, 2026 DELTA, British Columbia — Windet Farms BB #:262073 today commences a 38-acre ultra-lit greenhouse expansion at its Delta facility, to be developed in two 19-acre phases.
Upon completion, the campus will span 168 acres, including 124 acres of ultra-lit production, reinforcing its position as the largest lit greenhouse vegetable facility in Western North America.
Family-owned and led by founders John and Steven Newell, Windset brings a three-decade track record of disciplined growth. The expansion will increase its owned greenhouse operations in Canada and the United States to 336 acres, including its 168-acre facility in Santa Maria, California.
“Reliable supply and sustainable growing guide our investment decisions,” said Steven Newell, President and Chief Executive Officer of Windset Farms.
“By combining advanced technology with the expertise of our people, we’re building capacity our customers can count on for the long term, while delivering the flavour, freshness and quality consumers expect.”
The new greenhouses will incorporate advanced lighting and climate-management systems to optimize growing conditions and improve resource efficiency.
The expansion strengthens Windset’s integrated North American greenhouse platform, combining owned facilities with trusted grower partners across Canada, the United States and Mexico. This tri-country strategy positions production closer to customers and supports reliable, year-round supply of premium tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and specialty vegetables.
