Oppy and Ocean Spray highlight growing regions with new cranberry bags

October 29, 2026 NEWARK, Delaware — Oppy BB #:116424 and Ocean Spray BB #:101525 are bringing shoppers closer to the farms behind their fresh cranberries this season with new region-focused bags that showcase where the fruit is grown and the families who grow it.

The new packaging calls out three of Ocean Spray’s growing regions — the Pacific Northwest, the Great Lakes, and New England — and features local recipes sourced directly from Ocean Spray farmers.

“These new packs help bring our grower-owners closer to consumers,” said Brendan Schulke, team leader of fresh and business development at Ocean Spray. “While Ocean Spray is one of the most recognized names in the produce aisle, many consumers don’t realize we’re actually a farmer-owned cooperative of about 700 family farmers dedicated to growing and delivering the highest-quality cranberry products around the world.”

The packaging also puts a spotlight on the cranberry’s roots.

“Many people don’t know that cranberries are one of the few crops native to North America. It’s great that we can call out the individual growing regions, and that they’re North American-grown, right on the packaging,” shared Oppy’s Category Director Tony Illiano.

Ocean Spray is one of the most geographically diversified fresh fruit brands in the category, and Schulke said the regional focus does double duty for retailers.

Updated point-of-sale materials, including recipe cards, shelf blades and QR codes linking to seasonal recipes, boost discovery in store, and new brand assets support e-commerce, pickup and delivery. Retailers can also tap an updated Fresh Cranberry Playbook with seasonal insights and merchandising best practices.
