Expo West and South by Southwest were the first two big industry events to be cancelled or postponed due to concerns about coronavirus, or COVID-19.
On March 11, three more joined the list.
Viva Fresh Expo, scheduled for April 29-May 2, “will not go forward,” as scheduled, said the Texas International Produce Association, in a statement.
We are reviewing options for a possible postponement and will keep you updated on our progress.
In the meantime, exhibitors and attendees can receive a refund, or a credit for next year’s event.
Your support in taking advantage of the future credit option will go a long way in ensuring our ability to continue to deliver the exceptional trade show experience that the Viva Fresh Expo has become known for.
The Fresh Produce and Floral Council also has postponed its upcoming events including the Family Day at the Races and its April Luncheon, after many companies are taking a “proactive approach to limiting travel and attendance to events for their staff.”
“We will return with rescheduled dates as the coronavirus situation continues to unfold,” the organization said, in a statement.
Baldor Specialty Foods BB #:121770 has a new date for its Baldor Bite event, which was scheduled for April 28.
“NYC health officials have issued guidelines that recommend cancelling any large gathering where participants will be within arms-length of each other,” the company said, in a statement. “As such, we have decided to postpone BITE 2020 to September 9th, 2020.”
The Produce for Better Health Foundation and Produce Marketing Association, which have events scheduled for March and April, have not yet responded to March 12 inquiries about postponement or cancellation.
