PRESS RELEASE Robinson Fresh BB #:100586 recently became the exclusive North American provider of asparagus from Luis Alberto Falcon Salazar of CE Comercial S.A.C., one of the largest Peruvian asparagus exporters.
This exclusive sales and marketing agreement significantly increases Robinson Fresh’s Peruvian asparagus program and is sold under the Green Giant Fresh label. This growth in supply comes as consumer demand is up with retail sales of asparagus increasing by 11 percent last year, according to IRI 2018 data. Additionally, although the Peruvian asparagus season is year-round, the crop’s high season is from the end of summer through January, just in time for North American holidays.
Marketing produce for many of the top food retailers and foodservice providers in North America, Robinson Fresh – a division of C.H. Robinson – helps market and distribute growers’ entire crop by getting products to the right mix of customers through a global network of buyers.
