Innovative platform centralizes OTIF, QA, and performance metrics to help buyers strengthen supplier programs and reduce risk.

October 15, 2025 Chicago, IL — Retail buyers now have a faster, data-driven way to evaluate supplier performance with the launch of Blue Book’s Supplier Scorecard, a new solution designed to give produce teams clear, objective insight into the partners they rely on most.

Developed in collaboration with leading retailers and distributors, the Supplier Scorecard helps procurement and category teams compare suppliers on performance metrics that go beyond price – including fulfillment consistency, quality, and reliability over time.

The result: greater efficiency, more confident sourcing decisions, and stronger, more transparent partnerships across the supply chain.

“Over the past year, we’ve talked with retailers of all sizes, and the common themes are remarkably consistent,” said Jason Carty, Head of Sales at Blue Book Services. “Everyone is trying to balance price, quality, and surety of supply – yet few have an easy-to-use way to see which suppliers consistently deliver on expectations and which ones are creating friction.

Most teams still have to dig through multiple systems to answer simple questions like ‘Who shorted me the most when supply tightened?’ or ‘Which suppliers are trending upward in on-time, in-full, and QA performance?’ The Supplier Scorecard was built to answer those questions in seconds.”

The platform provides ongoing performance visibility through intuitive dashboards that track OTIF (On Time In Full) and QA (Quality Assurance) trends – along with Blue Book’s proprietary metrics such as Rating, Credit Score, and Trading Practices – in one place, helping buyers identify top-performing suppliers and flag potential risks early.

“The key for us is that it’s going to give us the ability to look at the suppliers on a more holistic and transparent basis. We’ll be able to evaluate performance on metrics that we haven’t been able to before,” said Mike Downey, Director of Procurement at Military Produce Group.

“The added benefit for me is that it also gives us this information on an ongoing basis. We can go into the scorecard and look at performance over time — all in a format that’s simple to use.”

The Supplier Scorecard aligns Blue Book’s mission of driving transparency and predictability in the produce industry with retailers’ need for data-driven decisions and accountability. By replacing subjective evaluations with shared data, it fosters collaboration and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
