Amazon’s BB #:283186 grocery delivery operation doesn’t just start in a warehouse.

Its team of field inspectors work with growers to make sure product is high enough quality to make the trip to one of Amazon’s same-day delivery fulfillment centers, where perishables are packed and shipped to customers within hours.

Amazon explains the entire process in this interactive story, titled “Inside the grocery operation Amazon built to be pickier than you.”

More than 2,300 U.S. cities and towns offer same-day delivery of groceries, helping Amazon to become the second largest grocer in the country.
