SALINAS, CA – Romaine harvest continues for Salinas-area grower-shippers this season, but it looks a little different due to pandemic restrictions.
Rod Braga, president and CEO of Braga Fresh Family Farms, Inc., BB #:206762 Soledad, CA, said social distance rules mean workers must be further apart. But he said by running more machines, the company is able to keep its efficiency close to what it was before.
He said Braga Fresh has other new rules in place for workers to protect them, such as when they’re on break or in transit to and from fields.
Braga joined me for a video to explain how the new rules look in practice.
