Inside monthly Blue Book claims for October

This report lists the claims filed with Blue Book in October. 

For real time updates to these claims, Blue Book members can log in to access the Claims Activity Tables (CAT) maintained for all listed companies. 

October saw 38 claims added to the Claims Activity Tables, which is consistent with the increased activity we’ve seen in 2026, said Blue Book’s Vice President of Claims, Collections & Dispute Resolution, Doug Nelson.  

The average claim amount of approximately $48,000 is larger than normal, especially in the absence of very large files skewing average, he said. As usual, October’s claims included a mix of slow-pays, no pays, and disputes. 

This report does not include Courtesy Contacts, which are typically used as a preliminary step before Blue Book claims are filed. 

When reviewing CAT information, please keep in mind that one-off claims do not necessarily mean the respondent company is a credit risk. 

For example, the claim in question may be subject to a bona fide dispute, an oversight, or a temporary cash flow problem. Blue Book’s review of open claims is ongoing, and CAT information is updated daily as part of our claims process.
