FULLERTON, CA—Organizers for the Fresh Summit Retail Tour brought three distinct formats to participants. In Bristol Farms we saw high end. At Grocery Outlet we saw deep discount and with Albertsons we split the difference.
This store had a strong emphasis on fresh-cut produce, particularly in-house creations, which tour guides told us accounted for nearly 3% of store sales.
There were also prominent meal solution stations, like the cases featuring taco ingredients greeting customers as they entered the produce department.
