USDA and FBI to host webinar for the produce industry on fraud prevention
Recent allegations reported to USDA’s PACA Division reflect a nationwide pattern of fraudulent procurement attempts using various methods.
October 21, 2026 — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is partnering with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to host a webinar on fraud prevention for produce‑industry members.
USDA continues to encourage industry members to be aware of sophisticated imposter‑fraud schemes targeting buyers, sellers, and transporters across fruit and vegetable supply chains.
Recent allegations reported to USDA’s Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) Division reflect a nationwide pattern of fraudulent procurement attempts involving spoofed identities, falsified credentials, altered email domains, and deceptive trust‑building tactics.
This webinar is part of ongoing coordination between USDA and FBI to strengthen industry awareness and prevention efforts through outreach and information sharing.
