U.S. regular gasoline and diesel fuel prices continue to rise as the U.S. and Israel engage in military conflict against Iran.

U.S. regular gasoline and diesel fuel prices continue to rise as the U.S. and Israel engage in military conflict against Iran. 

On-highway diesel fuel prices increased $0.088 per gallon over the previous week to $3.897 per gallon nationwide as of March 2, 2026, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update – U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) 

U.S. regular gasoline prices are up $0.078 per gallon to $3.015 per gallon nationwide for the week. 

By region, the largest increases in regular gasoline are in the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions. For diesel, New England and the Gulf Coast regions have seen the largest increases. 

Reuters reports that supertanker costs in the Middle East have hit all-time highs, as Iran has been attacking ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
