In Ica, Peru, four points of the highway are still blocked, hindering the agricultural sector and employment in Peru, according to the Association of Agricultural Producers Guilds of Peru (AGAP).

“We condemn the blockade of highways by groups of vandals that generate economic damage to agricultural producers and workers, agro-export and packaging companied, SMEs, transporters, and citizens,” said Gabriel Amaro, executive director of AGAP.
Peru and its agricultural sector have been navigating through a very critical situation, aggravated by these blockades that prevent the normal functioning of the productive sectors.
Protests are a constitutional right in Peru as long as they are peaceful and respect all citizens, while the blocking of roads and attacking public and private property are crimes, per AGAP.
AGAP further demands that President Dina Boluarte fulfill her constitutional role and guarantee free transit permanently on the roads, extend the validity of the state of emergency, establish a curfew in the affected regions, and denounce those guilty of these excesses.
