LOS ANGELES, CA — MAY 5, 2025 — Progressive Produce BB #:113613 released its first Sustainability Report, a major milestone for its Rooted initiative.

Built on the pillars of People and Planet, the report highlights progress in key areas, including employee engagement and sustainable packaging, while outlining goals for 2025 and beyond.

“Our first Sustainability Report is more than a summary of our progress,” said Dr. Oscar Guzman, Vice President of Marketing and Sales. “It reflects how we care for our team, support our communities, and work to reduce our environmental impact. Rooted continues to shape how we operate now and guide where we’re headed next.”

This commitment to people is also reflected in the longevity of the Progressive team, with one employee celebrating his 50th anniversary this year. Their hard work and dedication bring to life what Progressive stands for: Great People, Great Company, Great Future.

The company’s commitment to people and community extended beyond the office when Progressive team members volunteered at GrowGood’s Bell Farm.

Located next to The Salvation Army Bell Shelter, one of the largest homeless shelters in the country, GrowGood’s urban farm provides fresh produce to the shelter and the surrounding community while promoting regenerative agriculture, food access, and job training. Progressive team members helped plant, harvest, and compost to support the farm’s mission.

“Our team showed up with incredible enthusiasm and put our values into action,” added Guzman. “This event was a meaningful reminder that sustainability starts with people. It’s something we build every day, together.”

Highlights from the 2024 Sustainability Report include:

  • People: Employee engagement and well-being programs, annual social audits, and partnerships with organizations like Heart of Compassion and City of Hope
  • Planet: Smarter energy use, expanded recycling programs, and packaging innovations focused on recyclable and compostable materials
