WASHINGTON, DC – At its annual Washington Conference September 14, the International Fresh Produce Association BB #:378962 released a video it’s using for the medical community explaining and promoting fresh produce prescriptions.
IFPA Vice President of Nutrition and Health Mollie Van Lieu said it’s designed for that community to be able to understand what the program is, its benefits, and then be able to explain to patients.
Produce prescriptions have been a focus of IFPA nutrition advocacy, and a recent medical journal study showed they work, as it showed they do increase consumption of fruits and vegetables, to the amount of 0.85 cups per adult and 0.45 cups per child per day.
