In 2025, supermarket and club store chains registered $31 billion in prepared foodservice sales, nearly 5 percent more than 2024.

While it remains a strong part of their business, the growth in 2025 was lower than the previous year’s 5.2 percent and 7.1 percent from 2022 to 2023, according to Technomic’s “Industry Insights” report for the week of July 27, 2026.

The data from Technomic parent company Ignite shows, “robust growth by leading players like Publix, Whole Foods Market, Costco and H-E-B helped drive an overall foodservice sales increase of 4.8% in 2025. While sales growth remained sturdy, annual gains decelerated for the fourth-straight year.”
