May 5, 2025 Bakersfield, California — With National Women’s Health Week on the horizon—and spring’s bounty in full swing—it’s the perfect moment to recognize women-led businesses like Creekside Organics BB #:276546.

Whether you’re gathering with family or just enjoying the season’s freshest fruit, Creekside’s roots in women’s leadership and family farming are something worth celebrating.

Recently certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), Creekside is making a bold statement about leadership in agriculture. This certification recognizes Creekside as majority woman-owned, operated, and controlled—but for Co-CEOs Bianca Kaprielian and Brenda Haught, it’s just the beginning.

“At the end of the day, we are not only growers and produce marketing experts, we are moms, daughters, partners – people who believe in creating a unique business environment that will support not only women, but family farms well into the future,” said Haught, who founded Creekside in 2011 with a passion for organic agriculture and supporting family farms.

Kaprielian, a fourth-generation grower, launched Fruit World to market high quality produce with the goal of keeping family farming thriving for future generations.  Earlier this year, Fruit World entered a 50/50 merger with Creekside Organics who shared their vision and values.

“There’s a lot to be excited about in this next chapter for Creekside,” said Kaprielian. “But one thing that really stands out for me is that our Executive Team is all women—Brenda, Angelica Kaprielian, and me. It’s not something you see every day, and I’m proud to be shaping the future of this company together with them.” said Kaprielian.

Creekside’s women-led leadership brings decades of experience and a fresh perspective to agriculture. Their focus? Growing high-quality organic produce (everything from artichokes to zucchini to citrus), partnering with other growers that share their vision and values, and supporting the next generation of farmers.

According to the USDA, women represent 36% of all U.S. agriculture producers. However, only 9% of farming operations are entirely women-led. Creekside is proud to stand in that minority—and use its platform to lift up both multi-generational and first-generation growers.

So, whether you’re picking out peaches for a Mother’s Day brunch or tossing cherries into your kid’s lunchbox, you’re supporting something a little bigger: a team of women growing good things in every sense of the word.
