Aldi promotes VP to COO

Aldi U.S. BB #:116756 has promoted Karla Waddleton to Chief Operating Officer.

Waddleton has been with the retailer for 24 years, most recently as vice president.

In May, Aldi promoted Atty McGrath from COO to Chief Executive Officer. Aldi U.S. promotes COO to CEO – Blue Book

Waddleton announced the promotion in a LinkedIn post, saying, “As I look back on my journey with ALDI, beginning as a District Manager in St. Louis over 20 years ago, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to grow alongside an extraordinary team committed to our mission.”

As part of its aggressive growth strategy, Aldi U.S. plans to open 800 new stores over the next five years, with a target of more than 225 locations opening this year, a record for the retailer. Already this year, Aldi U.S. has opened 55 stores with 75 more locations set to open this summer in key markets such as Arizona, California, Florida and South Carolina as well as established markets like the Midwest and Northeast.
