Santa Maria, CA, strawberries are currently exhibiting strong quality, firm texture, and sweet flavor.

Sizing is variable, but color is mainly red with minimal white shoulders/white tips. A low-pressure system could bring ½” – ¾” of rain to the area from Thursday, November 14 to Friday, November 15.

Temperatures will cool significantly throughout the week with highs in the upper 50°s to low 60°s and lows in the mid-30°s to low 40°s. The lower temperatures will slow the ripening process and likely lead to lighter color in the coming days. Markon inspectors will continue monitoring weather and quality in the area and will update further as needed.
