In the 2021/2022 campaign, Peru exported 537,000 tons of table grapes, reflecting an increase of 14 percent compared to the 472,000 tons shipped in the previous campaign.
The president of consulting firm Inform@ccion, Fernando Cilloniz Benavides, told Agraria that the 2021/2022 campaign was the longest ever recorded thanks to late volumes being exported throughout April.
“Previous campaigns ended in March, and there were only small shipments in April,” Cilloniz said. “However, this campaign that has just ended shows interesting volumes dispatched.”
He said that in March, high volumes of late table grapes were noticeable as 21,374,157 kilos were exported, reflecting an increase of 120.2 percent compared to the 9,706,212 exported in the same month during the previous campaign.
While in April, 5,951,197 kilos were exported reflecting and increase of 584 percent compared to the 870,095 kilos exported the same month during the previous campaign.
