ANAHEIM, CA – Dole plans to expand its successful Fresh Take ready-to-eat salad line.
Bil Goldfield, director, corporate communications for Dole Food Company BB #:124463 said during PMA Fresh Summit that the line will expand by 12 SKUs on its smaller sizes and seven for its larger, starting next year.
He said initially they will be available in markets east of the Mississippi with national roll out later in the year.
The smaller ones are 5 ounces and sell in stores for about $3.99, and the larger ones are 13.5 ounces and sell for $5.99.
“The larger ones are designed to be a meal,” Goldfield said.
They are all salad based and offer a combination of meat or non-meat protein, cheese, nuts, corn, fruit or other flavors, plus dressing.
