Martin’s Foods Markets to Close Three Richmond Area Stores Summer of 2016

Richmond, VA – MARTIN’S Food Markets today announced it will close three stores within the greater Richmond area in the summer of 2016. The impacted stores are located at 3330 South Crater Rd., Petersburg, 7324 Bell Creek Rd., Mechanicsville and 3000 Stony Point Rd., Richmond.

The leases for all three locations are set to expire and a business decision was made not to extend the leases for these stores.

“We have made the difficult decision to close these locations,” said Tom Lenkevich, MARTIN’S president. “The Petersburg, Mechanicsville and Stony Point store teams have worked very hard and we greatly appreciate the dedicated service of our associates.”

A total of 357 associates will be impacted. Full time associates will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at nearby stores. In addition they will be offered separation benefits and transition support. All part time associates will be offered opportunities at nearby MARTIN’S locations.
