In the second quarter, the trucking segment achieved an adjusted operating ratio of 84.6% compared to 82.7% for the same quarter last year. The operating ratio was negatively impacted by a decrease in revenue per tractor, excluding fuel surcharge, of 2.9%, year over year, attributable to a 0.3% increase in average revenue per loaded mile, a 3.0% decrease in average miles per tractor, and a 20 basis point increase in our non-paid empty mile percentage.
