Blue Book Services, Inc. ("BBS") takes your privacy
seriously. BBS's Privacy Policy is described herein. Please review this Privacy
Policy thoroughly. In the event you do not accept the terms of this Privacy Policy
you must discontinue use of BBS's Products and Services, including this Web Site,
immediately. Your use of BBS's Product and Services, including this Web Site, is
also governed by BBS's Terms of Use. Additionally, your use of BBS's Products
and Services may be governed by the BBS Member Agreement and any other
agreement entered into between you and BBS.
The Information We Collect
This Privacy Policy applies to all information submitted and collected by BBS.
BBS is the sole owner of the information collected, and will use it only as described
herein.
Business Information
If you register to become a Blue
Book Member, we will endeavor to collect information from you about your
business, such as trade name, addresses, contact information, personnel names
and background All such information
becomes a part of the BBS database which may be accessed by entities and
individuals that utilize our services. Additionally, you may submit financial statements, accounts receivable information, and other information about other
businesses and individuals, such as names, addresses, and your trading
experience with these businesses or individuals. Similar information may be
provided by others, members and non-members. BBS may use this business
information to create Products and Services (e.g., Business Reports) for
sale to the public or to license the use of such information to our third party
business partners. BBS will not
voluntarily disclose financial statements or the source of any accounts
receivable or trading experience information you may provide without your
permission except in those special instances described below (see Section on
Necessary Disclosures below)
Order Information
Members and non-Members may order certain BBS Products and Services
online. When you place an order via our Web Site you will be required to provide
personally identifiable information in connection with completing the Order Form.
The requested information may include such data as your credit card information,
your name, trade name, addresses, and telephone and fax numbers. Such information
will be used by BBS and our third party online payment services partner, Verisign, Inc., to complete your order, deliver the requested
product or service, manage your account, provide customer service, and comply with
legal and regulatory requirements. Neither BBS nor our third party online payment services partner, Verisign, Inc., sells or voluntarily
transfers this order information. (See sections on Necessary Disclosures and Data
Security below.) BBS may, however, use order information to update and verify the
information contained in our Databases (e.g. addresses), including information used
to create Products and Services, and to conduct market research and analysis.
User Content, Configuration, and Access Codes
BBS considers any userĀ content, configurationsĀ (e.g. watchdog lists or saved searches), or access codes
(e.g. passwords or credentials used to access BBS or third-party data) you store on the Products and Services to be confidential.
BBS will not disclose, voluntarily transfer, use, or access such user content, configurations, or access codes,
except as deemed necessary for testing and auditing purposes, and except in those special instances described below
(see Section on Necessary Disclosures immediately below). Please be advised that such user content, configurations,
and access codes, will not be transferred to, or made accessible by, any other account, regardless of any change in
the employment status of an individual.
Necessary Disclosures
BBS may access and disclose any information we have collected
in special instances when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information
is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who might
be violating their legal obligations to BBS, or may be causing injury to or interference
with (either intentionally or unintentionally) BBS's rights or property, or
other users of BBS's Products or Services. BBS may also access and/or disclose
any information when we believe in good faith that such access and disclosure is
required by law or necessary to avoid liability.
Cookies and IP Addresses
Cookies are small files placed on computer hard drive by programs
and web servers. In order to function properly, our Web Site requires that
you allow us to place cookies on your computer when you access and use the Web Site.
If this functionality has been turned off on your computer, you will not be able
to use all the functionality of our Web Site. For your protection, BBS uses security
cookies to authenticate the identities of web site users. We also use cookies to
customize and improve our users' experience on the Web Site.
An Internet protocol ("IP") address is a set of numbers that is automatically
assigned to your computer when you access the Internet. Web servers identify your
computer by the IP address assigned to it during your online session. BBS may use
the IP addresses of our users to help diagnose problems with our servers and to
administer the web site.
BBS may also use cookies and/or IP addresses to measure certain
traffic patterns, such as which areas of the web site you have visited. We may use
this information to refine, improve, and customize the experience and content you
and other users will see on the Web Site.
Email
Please note that the e-mail sent via our Web Site is not encrypted
and does not provide for completely secure and private communications. It is possible
that any e-mail messages sent via our Web Site may be accessed and viewed by other
Internet users without your knowledge and permission.
Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data integrity, and ensure the correct
use of information, BBS has put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures
to safeguard and secure the information we collect. For instance, credit card payment
information is processed and protected by VeriSign, Inc., our online payment services
partner through use of a secure billing system. Both BBS and VeriSign use various
security measures to protect against unauthorized access to your credit card information
including firewalls, encryption, and secure servers. Neither BBS nor VeriSign use
or voluntarily share credit card information for any purpose other than described
herein.
Please be aware, however, that no Internet-based computer system can be considered
100% safe from intrusion. By accessing and using the Web Site, you agree that you,
and not BBS, shall bear the risk of any use or misuse of your information that
is obtained by "hacking" or other nefarious means.
Links To Other Web Sites
You may find links to other web sites on our Web Site. BBS provides such links
for your convenience, however, we cannot guarantee that these web sites adhere to
similar privacy standards.
Disclaimer of Liability
Under no circumstances shall BBS be liable for any damages, including, but not
limited to, special, incidental, consequential or exemplary damages, that result
from the use of our Products and Services, including this Web Site, even if BBS
has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Amendment
BBS reserves the right to review and revise this Privacy Policy from time to time
without prior notice. For this reason, we encourage you to review this Privacy
Policy whenever you use our Product and Services. Your use of these services
following any such modification constitutes your acknowledgement and acceptance
of this Privacy Policy as modified. The last date this Privacy Policy was modified
is set forth below.
